The martial arts : aesthetics and creativity proved by Jasser BenKileni
Most of people agree that Art in general is a set of certain skillful and creative activities with an aesthetic focus. When you ask them about Sport, they absolutely won’t classify it as an artistic production. However, I don’t go with this preconceived opinion. For me, I consider that athletics are able to paint an aesthetical tableau similar to the tableau of a painter, yet with his arranged moves and not with the colours and the brushes. He can create his own steps and sequences and show the world that he loves what he is doing. I know one of these sporty people that can change your opinions about the relation between sport and art. Let me tell you the story of Jasser BenKileni.
He is 21 years old and he is studying mechanical engineering at university. His path in sport started with the Taekwondo and Kung-fu when he was 7 years old in Gbelli. When he came to Tunis with his family in 2012, he began to practise the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He wanted to improve his skills and to practise other sports, so he looked for sport club. He found Challenge in 2014. In 2016 he moved to Cobra team, where he started the MMA. He chose this martial art because it encompasses all the fighting styles. He was encouraged by his professional coach Abderrahmen Dridi who trains him approximately 6 days a week, from 2 to 3 hours a day. His family pushed him to excercise continuously and hard to have results such these : golden and bronzy medals in ADCC 2017, golden and bronzy medals in Jiu Jitsu 2016, golden medal in the Grabbling Tunis championship 2015 weight 61 and the golden and bronzy medals in open tournaments 2016. He participated in ADCC championship two times, the championship of grabbling and others in the Jiu Jitsu.
Our hero conceives the MMA as an artistic hobby, where he does not get bored. He always finds himself searching for new exercises and creating new moves. He is too ambitious and he wants to boost his martial art by the progressive work. Also, he succeeded to face his problems related to the balance between the training and the education.
Jasser is an example of the talented hard worker who faced a lot of challenges and succeeded to attain many medals. His art contains creativity as well as the needed enthusiasm to keep it up.
